Cultural information: The "Blue Flag" Iris is a good choice for small to medium sized ponds. It's arching leaves can reach a length of 24". Each stem can produce 3 or 4 pale purple-white flowers during the summer. Plant in early spring at the ponds edge or directly in the pond at a maximum depth of 6". Remove any dead or dying foliage and flowers as they appear.

Your local Garden Center should have a good selection of terrestrial and marginal Iris during the spring... as well as all the necessary supplies needed to construct a new pond.
