Cultural information: Iris laevigata has broad sword shaped leaves 14" to 16" long. The plant thrives went planted at the edge of the pond or planted directly into the pond. In small ponds submerge to depth of no more than 6" in a pond basket. Plant  in shallow water in large natural ponds. Most varieties of Iris will flower early to mid summer. There is a hybrid variety available call 'Variegata' that has creamy-white and green variegated leaves and purple flowers.

Your local Garden Center should have several varieties of Iris available during the spring. Flowers can be harvest for indoor arrangements. When cutting flowers... cut the stems on a downward angle, at the nearest leaf sheath. Dead or dying foliage and flowers should be removed.
