Glossary
Aquatic plant ~ A species of plant that lives in water either
floating, submerged, or rooted into the ponds bed.
Bog ~ An area of land that is constantly wet.
Carnivorous ~ A plant that traps and ingests insects for nutrition.
Deep water ~ Aquatic plants that are submerged or rooted 12" to
36" in depth.
Invasive plant ~ A vigorously growing plant
that will quickly overwhelm native or slower growing plants.
Marginal plant ~ A plant that requires permanently moist or wet
conditions.
Submerged plant ~ A plant that remains submerged below the water
line.
Terrestrial plant ~ A plant that is grown in normal soil conditions.
