Wildflower Field notes: Spanish Bayonet is common at lower elevations. Its really easy to find and identify. In spring Spanish Bayonet produces a tall single spike of beautiful white bell shaped flowers. American Indians and early settlers made soap from its roots.

Look for Yucca glauca in dry arid areas in full sun. Spanish Bayonet can be found growing on hillsides, open fields, deserts, and any location that is hot and dry up to the foothills ecosystem.
