Wildflower Field notes: Black Tip Senecio is quite common. Its called Black Tip Senecio because the flower bracts have a small black tip on them. The flowers generally have some sort of black, beetle like insect grazing on them. 

Look for Black Tip Senecio growing along sunny roadsides or near rock piles.
