Wildflower Field notes: The Colorado Rocky Mountain Columbine is our state flower. These spectacular flowers are easiest to find during mid to late spring. Look for them where the soil is moist either in clearings or aspen forests. Occasionally they can be found in pine forests.

They thrive in either full sun or partial shade making them an excellent candidate for the wildflower garden.
