Wildflower Field notes: Hawksbeard is very common throughout the plains to foothills ecosystems. The large green leaves in the upper part of the picture is an Oenothera. Hawksbeard is the gray-green foliage. 

Look for Hawksbeard in dry, sunny areas on hillsides, prairies, and along roads or trails.
