Pictured Wildflower: Balloon Flower Penstemon plameri
Wildflower Field notes: This beauty does not normally grow in Colorado. We believe it was seeded by CDot following a construction project along highway 285. Penstemon palmeri grows quite tall producing long spires of very fragrant flowers. All the flowers face one side of the stem. Balloon Flower might be a great choice for planting towards the rear of the wildflower garden.
