Field notes: Jones Penstemon is a common sight at lower
elevations. It prefers dry areas such as small clearings in
sagebrush or along roadsides. Jones Penstemon is a very low
growing Penstemon that looks similar to a Sedum when not in
flower. Penstemon dolius is very drought tolerant making it an
excellent candidate for the native rock gardens.
