Wildflower Field notes: Common Evening Primrose grows more columnar than the other Oenothera varieties which seem to have a spreading growth habit. Common Evening Primrose is quite common and easy to identify.

Look for Common Evening Primrose in sunny, dry areas along roadways, open fields or meadows, and anywhere the soil has been disturbed from any type of construction.
