Field notes: The Yellow Stemless Evening Primrose is perhaps
the most attractive member of the Oenothera family. As with the
other Evening Primroses... this one displays its large yellow
flowers in the morning, then closes its flowers during the heat of
the day, and re-opens them as the sun begins to set. Yellow Stem Less
Evening Primrose seems to produce flowers one right after
the other with each flower only lasting a day or two.
Look for
Yellow Stemless Evening Primrose in sunny or partly shady areas
along roadways, and hillsides.
Yellow Stemless Evening Primrose is extremely drought
tolerant making it an excellent choice for the xeriscape or
wildflower garden.
