This plant just appeared out of the "Blue".

Field notes: Rocky Mountain Iris is easy to identify. It
looks very similar to the cultivated varieties we all know.
Although the pictured plant is thriving in my arid dirt
driveway... look for them in moist meadows or clearings, and along
streams and ponds.
