Field notes: Subalpine Larkspur is fairly common at higher elevations. Its easy to spot in the field as Delphinium barbeyi can grow quite tall. 

Look for Subalpine Larkspur in moist sunny areas such as meadows, clearings, and along streams or bogs. The large purple flowers are quite fragrant.
