Wildflower Field notes: Sugar Bowls is an easy wildflower to identify. They have very unique purplish nodding flowers that look similar to a bonnet. Unlike most wild Clematis, Sugar Bowls does not vine. 

Sugar Bowls can be found growing in large clumps in open sunny areas along slopes and hillsides.
