"Copenhage Market Early" is a Ferry Morse seed that produces early, 2 to 3 pound Cabbage heads. It's excellent for the table and sauerkraut.

The Bed: Add a fresh layer of rich compost to the top soil, then till or spade the bed to loosen the soil and work in the compost. Rake level.

How to Grow: Cabbage is a cool season crop the can be planted early in the season. For growing cabbage we'll start with transplants. Space transplants 18" to 24" apart in rows 20" to 36" apart, depending on final size of the cultivar.

Plant seed 1" deep, 3" to 4"apart in rows 20" - 36" apart. Thin or transplant seedlings to 18" - 24" apart if necessary. Keep the soil moist but not soggy until the seeds germinate. After germination water the Cabbage seedlings as needed. Mulch plants when they are 4" to 6" tall to keep the soil cool and to retain moisture.

Harvesting: Cabbage heads are ready to harvest when they are full and firm.

Available Hybrids - Cultivars: Ruby Perfection 85 days, Chieftan 88 days, Stonehead 100 days.
