"Celery Utah Improved" is a Ferry Morse seed. It produces thick, tender flavorful stalks. The leaves are excellent as a garnish.

The Bed: Add a fresh layer of rich compost to the top soil, then till or spade the bed to loosen the soil and work in the compost. Rake level.

How to Grow: Celery needs a long growing season. To get a good jump on growing Celery purchase pre-started plants at your local Garden Center, or pre-start plants indoors. Space transplants 6" to 8" apart in rows 24" apart. Water transplants as needed.

Harvesting: Harvest after first light frost. Plants can be left in the garden if very heavily mulched with straw. To blanch Celery tightly wrap the stocks with newspapers late in the season. Secure the newspaper with twist ties or rubber bands.

Available Hybrids - Cultivars: Brilliant 110 days, Mentor 100 days, Dolvi 150 days.
