Cultivation: Plant in full sun in light, well worked moist soil. Prefers acidic well drained soil... but will adapt to most soil types except hard heavy soil where the plant tends to rot. Space new container grown plants 15" apart. Deadhead after initial flowering to promote new flower growth. "Stokes Aster" dislikes having wet feet while dormant. Requires mulching for winter protection. Flowers are excellent for cutting.

Propagation:
Seed should be started in a cold frame or greenhouse in fall and held until spring. Your best bet is to purchase pre-started plants at your local Garden Center. Once established, plants can be divided in spring.
