Cultivation:
Plant in full sun in well drained soil. Prefers slightly alkaline
soils. Tolerates short periods of drought well. Space new
container grown plants 12" - 24" apart. Deadhead to
promote new flower growth after initial flowering. The "Pincushion Flower" dislikes having wet feet while
dormant. Flowers are good for cutting and attracting butterflies.
Propagation:
Seed can be started in a cold frame or greenhouse and moved
outdoors after danger of frost has passed. For quicker growth,
purchase pre-started plants at your local Garden Center. Once
established plants can be divided in spring.
