Cultivation:
Plant Manarda in full sun in moist, fertile well drained soil for
optimum growth. "Cambridge Scarlet Bee Balm" grows well
in most soil types. This hardy perennial will do best if it
receives mid day shade during the heat of the summer. Bee Balm
dislikes having wet feet while dormant. It can spread by self
seeding.
"Bee Balm" flowers are excellent for cutting and attracting butterflies,
bees and
hummingbirds.
Propagation:
Purchase pre-started Cambridge Scarlet Bee Balm plants at your local Garden Center.
Space new container grown plants 18" to 24" apart
depending on how quickly you wish the area to fill in. Once
established, plants can be divided in spring.
