Perennial Cultivation: Plant Hemerocallis in full sun in fertile, well drained soil. "Daylilies" tolerate most soil types and short periods of drought well. Space new container grown plants 24" apart. Prolonged periods of dry conditions will reduce flowering. Once established most "Daylilies" are tolerant of high heat.

Feed every two weeks with a balanced liquid fertilizer while the plant is producing flowers. Good selection for containers. Flowers are excellent for cutting.

The name Hemerocallis is derived from two Greek words meaning beauty and day... because the flowers only last for one day.

Propagation:
Purchase pre-started Daylily plants at your local Garden Center. Divide the plants every 3 to 4 years to maintain vigor.

Potential pests ~ diseases:
Aphids or spider mites.
