Perennial
Cultivation:
Plant Sea Holly in full sun in dry, well drained soil. It actually prefers poor
soil types and is drought tolerant. "Sea Holly" dislikes
having wet feet during the winter. Eryngium flowers are excellent for dried
floral arrangements.
Propagation:
Seed can be started in a cold frame or greenhouse, then
moved outdoors after danger of frost has passed. For quicker
growth, purchase pre-started Sea Holly plants at your local Garden Center.
Plants are difficult to divide.
Potential pests ~ diseases: Susceptible to root rot if
