| Perennial
Cultivation:
Columbine 'Robin' is very similar in growth habit
and flower size to the 'Cardinal' Columbine except it grows a
littler taller and has pastel rosy-pink and white blossoms. Once
Robin begins blooming, you can expect
an abundance of large showy flowers for 4 to 6 weeks or more.
Plant Columbine Robin in full sun to
partial shade in fertile, moist well drained soil. Columbines
appreciate having a little light mid day shade during the heat of
the summer.
Propagation: Columbine Robin can be grown from seed,
but for quicker growth purchase pre-started plants at your local
garden shop or greenhouse. Space new
container grown plants 18" to 24" apart. Columbines are a bit difficult to
dig and divide, or transplant from one bed to another as the plant
dislikes its roots being disturbed.
Seeds collected and grown from hybrid plants my not hold true in form to their parents.
Potential pests ~ diseases: Aphids or powdery mildew.
