Aquilegia x 'Blue Jay'
Perennial Cultivation: Columbine Blue Jay produces large 3" light bluish-purple and white flowers beginning in late spring. Blue Jay is part of the Song Bird series of Columbines.

Plant Columbine Blue Jay in full sun to partial shade in fertile, moist well drained soil. Shade from mid day sun and heat helps overall plant vigor.

Propagation:
Blue Jay can easily be grown from seed. For quicker results purchase pre-started Columbine plants at your local Garden Center. Space new container grown plants 20" - 24" apart depending on how quickly you wish the area to fill in. Columbine are a bit difficult to transplant once established as the plants roots dislike being disturbed. Naturally occurring seedlings are easy to transplant before they have developed a large root system.
