Plant Select® 2001
Perennial Cultivation: 'Columbine Denver Gold™' is a very showy hybrid variety of the golden Columbine that is native to the Southern Rockies. Denver Gold has large golden yellow flowers that can measure over 3" across with even longer spurs. A 2001 Plant Select® variety that is a real show stopper. Once Denver Gold begins to bloom it will continually produce flowers until first frost.

Plant Denver Gold Columbine in full sun to partial shade in fertile, moist well drained soil. It is not terribly picky about soil type so long as it is kept moderately moist. Shade from mid day summer heat helps the plant to maintain its vigor. Most Columbines are profuse self seeders. Seed collected from hybrid varieties my not hold true to their parents.

Propagation:
Denver Gold Columbine can easily be grown from seed. For quicker growth and faster flowering purchase pre-started plants at your local Garden Center. Space new container grown plants 15" - 20" apart. "Columbine" are fairly difficult to transplant once established.
