Perennial Cultivation: Blue Bugloss is a short live perennial that re-seeds itself reappearing in the garden year after year. Due to the height that Blue Bugloss can grow to it prefers sheltered a area to avoid wind damage. Staking may be required.

Plant Anchusa Bugloss in full sun, in moist fertile soil. It adapts to  most soil types so long as it is well drained. Once established Blue Bugloss can withstand short periods of drought. Mid day shade during summer heat is beneficial. Mulching the root zone is recommended but don't cover the plants crown with mulch.

After flowing, cut back flower stalks to promote energy storage for over-wintering. Blue Bugloss flowers can be cut and used in floral arrangements.

Propagation:
Seeds can be germinated in a cold frame and moved outdoors after danger of frost has passed. For quicker growth purchase pre-started Bugloss plants from you local Garden Center. Space transplants 18" to 24" apart.

Potential pests ~ diseases:
Rare.
