Perennial Cultivation: Most varieties of Monkshood produce tall spikes of purplish flowers, but the yellow Monkshood is unusual as it grows spikes of pale yellow flowers. The leaves, roots and stems of all Monkshood's are poisons.

Yellow Monkshood prefers to be grown in a cool location in moist fertile soil in partial shade. It will slowly adapt to full sun if the soil is constantly moist. Monkshood flowers are great for cutting and used in floral arrangements.

Propagation: Yellow Monkshood seeds can be germinated in a cold frame, then moved outdoors after danger of frost has passed. For quicker growth purchase pre-started plants from your local garden shop. Space new container grown plants 24" - 36" apart. Plants can be divided every 3 years.

Potential pests ~ diseases:
Aphids, stem rots and powdery mildew.
