Cultivation: "White Yarrow" is a perennial
that can be found growing throughout the Colorado Rockies. It is a
native plant that Indians and early settlers used for its
medicinal properties. Once established White Yarrow is very hardy.
Its creeping roots will sprout up new plants as they travel along
just below the soil.
Plant White Yarrow in well drained soil in full sun. It
tolerates light shade, but the plant will stretch and produce less
flowers. White Yarrow does well in
most soil types. All varieties of Achillea are excellent for attracting
Butterflies.
Propagation: White Yarrow plants can be relocated from established
plantings on private property, or purchase pre-started plants from
your local Garden Center. Space new container grown plants 12" - 24"
apart depending on how quickly you want the area to fill in.
