Herbs Cultural information: "Wintergreen" is best purchased from your local Garden Center. 

Wintergreen prefers to be planted in compost rich acid soils in partial shade. The soil must be well drained. This difficult to grow plant dislikes the heat of summer and does not do well in drought conditions. Strike three... you might as well give up on Wintergreen in Colorado.

Harvesting & Storage: "Wintergreen" leaves may be harvested any time. The berries should be harvested as soon as they turn bright red. Leaves and berries must be used fresh.
