Herbs that help Repel Insect pests

Many gardeners prefer to not use chemicals on their gardens. Its long been know by avid gardeners that planting certain varieties of herbs along side other plants... helps to ward off damaging insects.

Below is a list of insects... along with the herbs that help to repel them.

Insect Herbs to use
All insects Santolina
Ants Mints or Wormwood 
Aphids Catnip, Chives, Coriander, Fennel, Garlic, Mints, Mustard and Nasturtium
Beetles Basil,  Parsley and Wormwood
Cabbage maggots Garlic, Sage and Wormwood
Codling moth Garlic and Wormwood
Cucumber beetles Catnip and Nasturtium
Mosquitoes and gnats Basil, Lavender, Lemon Balm, Lemon, Mints, Lemon Thyme, Mugwort, and Santolina
Potato beetle Catnip, Coriander, Nasturtium
