Herbs Cultural information: "Lemon Balm" is easy to grow. You can start Lemon Balm from seed, or purchase pre-started plants at your local Garden Center or greenhouse.

If you opt to grow seed, lay them on the surface of the soil or slightly covered to prevent the wind from blowing them. Keep the soil moist until the Lemon Balm seed germinates.

Uses: Aromatic, Cosmetic, Craft, and Ornamental

Harvesting & Storage: First season plants may be to thin to harvest. Harvest Lemon Balm just before it blooms, cutting the plant about 3" from the surface soil.

Hang individual Lemon Balm plants in a warm shady area. The key here is to dry the plant out as fast as possible to preserve the fragrance.
