Herbs Cultural information: "Garlic" plants can be started either from seed or bulbs purchased at your local Garden Center.

With our short growing season we recommend starting your Allium plants from bulbs. The bulbs are quite cold hardy and can be planted before your other garden crops. Plant the Allium cloves 6" apart and 2" deep.

Once the Allium plants begin to flower cut the flower stalks back in early summer to promote bulb growth.

Uses: Aromatic, Craft, Culinary, and Medicinal

Harvesting & Storage: Late summer flatten the Allium foliage and stop watering your plants. Wait one week then pull the cloves. They may be used fresh or dried. Store fresh cloves in the refrigerator. Dried cloves may be stored in the open air or in a container.
