Ornamental Grasses Cultivation: Plant Japanese Blood Grass in full sun, in fertile well drained soil. It tolerates a little shade, but the colors will not be as intense. 

Japanese Blood grass may need mulching over the winter.

Propagation:
It's best to purchase pre-started plants at your local Garden Center or greenhouse. Once Japanese Blood grass becomes established plants may be dug and divided in the spring.
