8" Red Bristle Philodendron
Houseplant Cultural information: You can't see it in the picture... but the stems of this very attractive plant are coated with fine reddish fur.

For best growth, place your "Red-Bristle" Philodendron in bright indirect or filtered light. This plant will also adapt to life in low light areas, but may stretch. Check for watering weekly. Allow the surface of the soil to dry down about two inches between waterings in larger containers. Allow the surface of the soil dry to the touch in small containers. Feed bi-monthly with a balanced liquid fertilizer. If your plant becomes to large or leggy, cut it back to any desired length. Root the cuttings in a container of water or moist potting soil.

'Red-Bristle" Philodendrons are some what difficult to locate. There is another variety that is easier to locate that looks identical less the red fur called Philodendron 'Florida'. Either plant may be found in 6" containers thru 14" specimen plants. Some plants are grown on totem poles and hanging baskets.
