Cultural
information: "Jade Plants" are a popular
house plant. They are very easy to grow... and propagate.
"Jade Plants" need very bright light for proper
growth. They can be placed in direct or filtered sunlight. If
placed in strong direct sunlight the outside edge of the leaves
will have a red border... in a little less light the leaves will
be solid green. All members of the Crassula family are a
succulent. Succulents don't require a lot of water. Allow the
potting soil to dry about half way down the container before
watering... but don't let it get "bone" or
"dust" dry, then water thoroughly. Feed your plant
monthly with a balanced plant food. Propagate by laying
"Jade Plant" leaves on the surface of the soil of a pot
or flat... making sure the end of the leaf touches the soil. Do
not plant the leaves. Within 30 to 60 days a new plant will emerge
from the end of the leaf.
"Jade Plants" are available in nearly every container
size from small starter plants to very large and heavy specimen
plants.
