Houseplant Cultural information: We don't really have a clue as to how this plant became know as the "Aluminum plant"... but its leaf does sort of look like a watermelon which would be a more fitting name.

This fast growing little plant likes bright filtered light. Any window will do nicely with the exception of a northern exposure.

In small container sizes check for water every few days until you become familiar with the Aluminum plant's needs, in larger pots once a week should do.

Feed monthly while actively growing with a balanced liquid plant food such as Peter's Plant Food. Feed bi-monthly if inactive.

If the Aluminum plant becomes leggy... just cut it back. The cuttings can be rooted in a container of water or in vermiculite. If rooting stem cuttings in vermiculite cover the cuttings and container with a clear plastic bag until well rooted.

Common houseplant pests include: Aphids

Aluminum plants are generally readily available in 3", 4" and 6" containers.
