Latin name:
Rhododendron obtusum or Rhododendron simsii

Azaleas - Rhododendron obtusum
Native to: Man made hybrid.
Growth habit:
Flowering indoor rounded bush usually not over 20" in height.

Temps: Keep cool. 
Humidity:
Place on pebble tray.
Pests: Not effected by many pests.

Cultural information: Azalea" are available in a wide array of colors nearly year round. Their flowers can last up to eight weeks if kept in a cool location. Check for water daily until you become familiar with the plants water requirements. Keep its peat moss based soil moist at all times... but not soggy.

After your Azalea plant has finished flowering move it to a bright cool area in the home. Feed monthly with an acid-type plant food during the spring and summer months only. Eventually your Azalea will re-flower and become a beautiful flowering indoor house plant again.
