General Filler Flower Care: Keep the water in the vase of your Statice fresh. Replace the water every 3 days with cold water keeping the water level near the top of the vase.

Re-cut 1/2" from the base of each Statice stem under water using a sharp knife with each water change. Remove any foliage that may become submerged after re-cutting.

Variety note: This variety of Statice and its hybrid cousins are by far the most popular small filler flower used today. Statice is usually a fairly long bunch measuring 22" or more.  It's available in blue, lavender, pink, yellow, peach, purple, and white. Statice is sold in a 10 stem bunch.

Statice dries very well. Hang bunches upside down in a warm dark area to preserve their color. Spray with a floral fixative when dry.

Add a commercial floral preservative such as AquaPlus or FloraLife to the vase that contains your Statice with each water change. Floral preservative helps to prevent bacteria growth, aids in keeping vase water clear, and feeds your flowers and foliages insuring a longer vase life.

If you run out of commercial flower preservative you can make your own fresh cut flower food mix 1/2 teaspoon of table sugar to a quart of cold water... mixing thoroughly.
