Fresh Cut Flowers

The selection of fresh cut flowers is as wide and diverse as the choices in plants that are available for outdoor planting.

Some varieties of today's fresh cut flowers will last for 2 weeks or more... others last only a few days.

No matter how long they last... cut flowers help to beautify our surroundings in the home or office.  They help us express our appreciation or love.

To obtain the longest life from your Fresh Cut Flowers or flower arrangements...
  • Purchase your fresh cut flowers from a reputable professional floral shop.

  • Only purchase fresh cut flowers or floral arrangements that are kept in refrigerated coolers with doors. This is an important aspect of Cold Chain management. Road side stands or open coolers expose the flowers to heat... which dramatically shortens their vase life.

  • Ask for the floral shop if they have any Colorado grown cut flowers. Although their are only a few Colorado cut flower growers in business today... the flowers are incredibly fresh  and have outstanding vase life.

Due to high heating costs... the majority of the fresh cut flowers that are available today are either grown in Florida and California, or imported from Central and South America. Hawaii is also a major producer of cut flowers.
