General Tropical Cut Flower Care: Keep the water in the vase of your Anthurium Midori fresh. Replace the water every 3 days with cold water keeping the water level near the top of the vase. Re-cut 1/2" from the base of each Anthurium stem under water using a sharp knife with each water change.

Variety note: Anthurium is available year round in shades shades of green, pink, purples, red, white, lavender and bi-colors. Anthuriums are usually sold by the stem with stem lengths and flower heads varying by variety. "Midori" is one of several species of hybrid Anthuriums created for the floral trade. Anthuriums get their name from the Greek words... anthos, meaning "flower" and oura, meaning tail, the tail being the spadix that grows from the center of the leaf.

The Anthurium family is quite large containing over 600 varieties of plants that are used as house plants and cut flowers. Anthuriums are quite hardy. They'll usually look great long after the other fresh flowers have perished. To get the most from your Anthurium submerge the entire blossom in cool water for 15 minutes daily, then return it to the arrangement.

Common names include; Little Boy Flower, Flamingo Flower and Flowering Anthurium.

Add a commercial floral preservative such as AquaPlus or FloraLife to the vase that contains your Anthurium Midori with each water change. Floral preservative helps to prevent bacteria growth and feeds your Anthurium flowers insuring a longer vase life. To make your own cut flower food mix 1/2 teaspoon of table sugar to a quart of cold water... mixing thoroughly.
