The Water Gardening Lifestyle

Homeowners often install a pond or water garden simply for the beauty it adds to their landscaping. A transformation in these homeowners soon occurs as they move from pond owner, to pond hobbyist... to water gardener.

There's no better way to unwind after a hard day than kicking off your shoes and dipping your feet in a soothing waterfall and watching your fish greet you as you feed them.

Water Garden PondThe lifestyle element is just one of the reason that water gardening is the fastest growing segment of the green industry as well as the top requested option in landscape renovation... even in times of drought and an uncertain economy. Ponds offer an opportunity for terrestrial gardeners to learn and enjoy a whole new spectrum of gardening. Fish enthusiasts can interact with new species, from Koi to Trout... and pet lovers have some new friends to name and care for.

We often hear that people don't have ponds because they believe there's too much maintenance involved. With the newest generation of filters, pumps, and liners... the maintenance required is actually much less than if the area was planted in grass. Setting up a biologically balanced ecosystem allows your pond to mimic nature and stay beautiful... the natural way!

Let Your Personality Determine Your Pond's Size and Style

Water gardens are also appealing because they can come in any size or shape that you can imagine. Ponds can range from a small container garden on your back patio with a water lily and a couple of goldfish... to a professionally installed natural water feature with multiple waterfalls and streams with a very large pond containing many varieties of aquatic plants, Koi and other assorted fish. For those with very limited space, or concerns related to small children, there's the "Pondless Waterfall"... all the beauty of a waterfall and stream without the pond.

No matter which size is right for you... be prepared to be bitten by the water gardening bug that will have you looking for ways to spend more time by your pond and constantly improving it by adding new plants, fish or even looking to expand your pond. Feedback from our customers proves that not one of them whishes they would have installed a smaller pond!

Parade of Ponds

A great way to learn more about ponds and water features is toParade of Ponds Tour go visit some! North American Water Gardening Society

The North American Water Garden Society (NAWGS) is a newly formed non-profit organization dedicated to education and the promotion of water gardens. Though there are a number of industry-related societies already established, NAWGS is the first organization established primarily for the consumer. Their web site is currently under construction... but you can visit by clicking here.
