Flowering potted bulbs for the home or office

DaffodilsAs we approach the Christmas holiday season, the local Garden Centers are moving their Poinsettias to the sales floor in preparation for production of their next crop... Indoor Potted Bulbs.

Among the first of the bulb crops is Amaryllis... a popular Christmas plant. Soon after the holidays the potted spring bulbs will start to appear.

Plants like Crocus, Daffodils, Hyacinths, Narcissus and Tulips will be available for the next couple of months.

To bring these beautiful flowering plants into full blossom... the greenhouse growers need to mess with mother nature and trick the plants into thinking it is spring. They do this by manipulating the temperatures within their greenhouse over a set period of time. We know that most of you have never seen this process, it is really quite amazing... and a lot of work!

The next time your shopping for potted flowering bulbs... be sure to visit your localEaster Lily Crop Colorado garden center or Floral shop. They have Colorado Grown plants. Be sure to tell them Denver Plants sent you.

Pictured to the right is the beginning of the 2003 Easter Lily crop.
