Potted Bulbs Cultural information: This beautiful seasonal Amaryllis plant has always been a favorite of the indoor gardener.

Amaryllis are very easy to grow. They prefer a cool location. Keep the soil on the dry side... but not totally dry. Your flowering Amaryllis plant will not need any fertilizer while its blooming.

After the flowers have bloomed out, move your Amaryllis to a dry, cool and dark area. Leave the plant in this location for eight weeks. Don't water during this period. Remove any dead or dieing foliage as it withers. After the eight week dormant period, move the plant to a well lit location and water thoroughly. Your Amaryllis should bloom again in four to six weeks.

Amaryllis is available in 6" or 7" containers from mid November thru the Christmas holiday. Your local Colorado Garden Center or Floral Shop should have a good selection of plants on hand including the new hybrid varieties.
