Cultivation: Vinca major is also vigorous grower that's easy to keep, and undemanding. During the summer it produces small lavender flowers. Vinca major is generally used in mixed containers, hanging baskets and window boxes. It is very heat and drought tolerant. Cold hardy to 45 degrees.

Don't confuse this plant with Vinca minor... which is winter hardy here in Colorado.

Plant annual Vinca major in full sun to partial shade in well drained soil either in beds or containers. "Vinca" will perform well in most any soil type so long as it drains well. Space plants 8" to 14" apart depending on how quickly you want the area to fill in. Feed monthly with a balanced liquid fertilizer.
