Cultivation: Ornamental grasses have recently become incredibly popular. "Purple Fountain Grass" is a very attractive annual grass, hardy in Zone 9 and above.

Purple Fountain Grass grows into an arching clump with burgundy-bronze green leaves that are about 12" long. After the first hard freeze the plant will slowly bleach out to the color of straw... but still looks quite attractive throughout the winter.

Purple Fountain Grass plumes are great for dried or fresh floral arrangements.

Plant in full sun in fertile well drained soil. Space plants 24" to 30" apart. Feed monthly with a balanced liquid fertilizer or apply slow release granular feed around the base of the plant.

Potential pests ~ diseases:
Rare.
