'Coral Swirl'
Cultivation:
Pronounced im pay' shenz. The 'Swirl' series is one of the
prettiest of the bedding type Impatiens. They are possibly best
suited to containers or hanging baskets. Their single flowers are swirled
with a different color on the edge of the petals. They are
available in Coral, Peach and Pink.
Impatiens do not perform well in full hot sun. Ideally they
should be grown in partial shade to nearly full shade with early morning or late day
sun. Plant in fertile well drained soil in either beds or in
containers. Space plants 8" - 10" apart. Protect from high winds and early season frosts. Feed
Impatiens every two weeks with a balanced liquid fertilizer. Impatiens can be moved
indoors at the end of the growing season to a sun room or sunny
window and kept as a flowering house plant.
Potential pests ~ diseases: Aphids, spider mites or
whiteflies.
