Cosmos are extremely easy to grow.
Even those with a black thumb should have success with them.
Cosmos actually prefer dry poor soils and a bit of neglect. Cosmos
are quite drought tolerant. The 'Sonata' family of Cosmos have a compact growth habit making
them an excellent choice for container gardening and attracting
butterflies.
Plant Cosmos Sonata Mix in full sun in fertile well drained soil in either beds
or containers. They tolerate heat and drought well. Cosmos grow quickly and flower prolifically. Remove
spent flowers to promote new flower growth. Cosmos are vigorous
re-seeders You should see plenty of new volunteers the
following spring.
Their thin flowers are good for pressing and excellent for
cutting.
Potential pests ~ diseases: Aphids or powdery mildew.
