Cultivation:
Plant Calendula in full sun to partial shade in any well drained
soil either in beds or containers. "English Marigolds"
prefer cooler temperatures and may not perform well during the
heat of late summer. Remove spent flower stems before they go to
seed to promote new flower growth.
Flowers are excellent for
cutting. "English Marigolds" are quite tolerant of light
frosts towards end of the growing season. Most Calendula
officinalis cultivars readily re-seed themselves appearing in
the garden again the next season.
Potential pests ~ diseases: Aphids, powdery mildew or
whitefly.
