| Cultivation:
Brachyscome Hot Candy is a fantastic newer spring
bedding plant. It
features larger leaves than other's of the cultivar plus the
flowers are more resistant to summer heat. At the 2002 Annual
Trial Gardens at CSU, Brachyscome 'Hot Candy' was chosen as the
best new variety.
Plant in fertile well drained soil in either beds or
containers. Most of the Brachyscome family is better suited to
container growing. Sites sheltered from high winds are
recommended. Fairly drought tolerant.
Brachyscome Hot Candy flowers are quite
fragrant and good for cutting. An excellent choice for hanging
baskets. If plants become leggy... just cut them back for a spurt
of new growth and flowers.
